Marie-Louise will be curating a solo show Snapshots and fast stories” with the very talented artist Mads Rafte Hein in collaboration wil Galerie Wolfsen in Aalborg, Denmark.
SNAPSHOTS & FAST STORIES
Danish artist Mads Rafte Hein, based in Copenhagen, originally studied graphic art at Copenhagen Technical College but now focuses on painting. His diverse works encompass intricately decorated interiors and detailed still lifes, bursting with pastel colors.
Rafte Hein draws inspiration from a wide range of visual culture sources, such as photography, Golden Age paintings, collages, books, videos, and old films. His recent paintings are vivid and vibrant, featuring a palette of bright pink, yellow, and turquoise. They emphasize contrasts, blending objects, scenes, and even centuries, like a ‘90s computer in a rowing boat or a black jaguar in a living room. Lately, he’s embraced a somewhat more austere style with oil chalk on paper, incorporating skulls and skeletons reminiscent of 17th-century memento mori paintings.
His art has been exhibited extensively in Germany and Denmark, including notable appearances at the Charlottenborg Spring Exhibition and Artists’ Autumn Exhibition. Rafte Hein’s works are treasured in private collections and art associations, and he is represented by Galleri Christoffer Egelund (Copenhagen) and Marie Louise Sandberg (Odense)
